Filter GW Folders by Sharing Type

Customize your configuration to filter the folders you migrate by selecting to only migrate GroupWise folders with specific Folder Sharing Types.

Default behavior

By default, Transend Migration Console migrates all folders that a user owns (“Owned by me”). This includes folders a user owns and does not share (“Not shared”), or shares with another user (“Shared by me”). No adjustment to the option is required.

Folder Sharing Types:

  • Shared with me – a folder owned by a different user than the migrating user, but shared with the migrating user.

  • Shared by me – a folder owned by the migrating user and shared with other users.

  • Not Shared – a folder owned by the migrating user that has no sharing settings.

Customize Folder Types to Migrate

To customize your Transend Migration Console configuration so that folders with different Sharing Types migrate, navigate to the Configure Optional Settings page, click the Show hidden options box on the Mailbox Options tab, and define the appropriate value in the Folder sharing type option.

Sharing Type Values

Define the appropriate value to only migrate the following folders:

1 = Not Shared
2 = Shared by me
3 = Not Shared or Shared by me (default, does not require a value)
4 = Shared with me
5 = Not Shared or Shared with me
6 = Shared by me or Shared with me
7 = Not shared or Shared by me or Shared with me
