Migration Services Engineer

This is a remote position (US based only) that will lead engineering efforts and provide migration services to customers who are moving to new email environments. If you have a strong understanding of the Microsoft 365 and/or Google Workspace ecosystems, and have performed email migrations for mid and large scale projects, this opportunity offers a ton of value!

This position is responsible for operating Transend’s migration software under the guidance of Transend’s Senior Architect. It requires strong technical knowledge of migration processing, messaging environments (M365 and Google Workspace) and cloud-based infrastructure.

This candidate will report to Transend’s VP of Business Development and Director of Migration Services.


  • Provide remote email migration services:
    • Interface with customers as necessary
    • Provision VM instances in the AWS cloud
    • Setup and provision Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace tenants, including user accounts and non-user objects
    • Create migration service accounts for authentication purposes
    • Configure Transend Migration Console for migration processing
    • Perform file migrations between Google Drive and Microsoft OneDrive/SharePoint
    • Perform pilot migration testing and analysis
    • Update DNS records during migration cutovers
    • Manage production migrations, including data processing and reporting status to customers
    • Troubleshoot results and remediate errors
    • Interact with Transend development team


  • Experience with the following:
    • Infrastructure, VMWare, Azure, AWS
    • Configuration, administration and deployment of any of the major email systems, including:
      • Microsoft 365
        • Exchange, Outlook, SharePoint/OneDrive, Teams
      • Google Workspace
      • HCL Notes Domino
      • Micro Focus GroupWise
      • IMAP compliant servers
    • Knowledge of PowerShell
    • Experience with Windows and related security issues
    • Ability to work independently
    • Ability to follow directions
    • Must be able to work remotely with minimal management oversight
    • Strong communication skills (in English), both verbally and in writing
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Willingness to work during off-business hours
