Schedule Cutover
The Cutover is when DNS records are updated and email from external users is delivered to your new mail platform (users “Go Live” in the new platform). The Cutover is also referred to as “update mail routing”.
You may schedule your Cutover only after all required Setup tasks have been completed and your Project Manager provides scheduling notice.
- If your methodology is a 2-Stage approach, your Project Manager will notify you to schedule the Cutover once the Stage-1 migration completes.
- If your methodology is a 3-Stage or Single-pass approach, you will be notified to schedule your Cutover once Setup is complete.
- Once notified, you will see a Schedule Cutover page in your project portal that allows you schedule your Cutover from available dates/times.
Default Cutover options
If Transend performs the Cutover (Transend updates DNS records):
- Monday – Thursday (12:00pm – 3:00pm, US Central Time).
- Post-Cutover migration processing will begin immediately after confirming mail flow into the target.
If Customer performs the Cutover (Customer updates DNS records):
- After Transend receives confirmation from Customer the DNS cutover has been performed and email is flowing into the target, Transend will begin post-Cutover migration processing immediately during normal business hours.
Custom Cutovers
If you require a Cutover to be performed by Transend at a different day/time than is provided, you may select a Custom Cutover.
Custom Cutovers require additional fees.
