Advanced Project Type – key benefits
If you selected the Advanced Project Type, your project includes a Pre-Migration Assessment and Post-Migration Validation that are only included with the Advanced Project Type.
Pre-Migration Assessment
Discovery of all objects that exist in the source platform.
- Inventory report of all source objects
- Planning Meeting to discuss the following:
- Object setup best practices
- Object Provisioning Plan
- Provision cloud-only objects in target
Note: Object reports and provisioning tools are available for the following platforms.
Post-Migration Validation
Completion reports
Mailbox migration reports:
- Completion report (by user) – all items migrated, summarized by user
- Includes: Migration ID, Data Type, Item Counts migrated
- Completion report (by migration) – all items migrated, summarized by migration ID
- Includes: Migration ID, Jobs, Agents, Agent Concurrency, Migration Concurrency, Data Type item counts, Transfers attempted & completed, Transferred GB, Duration (in minutes).
File migration reports:
- Comparison report – Comparison between source and target drives
- Defines differences between source and target drives after migration (i.e. defines any files that exist in one drive but not the other)
- Files that exist in the source but not the target post-migration are identified by file name and a + symbol
- Files that exist in the target but not the source post-migration are identified by file name and a – symbol

Additional reports can potentially be provided or developed upon request. Additional fees will likely be required.
Review Meeting
During your 30-minute project review meeting, your Project Manager will review migration results and identify important best practices in the new platform so you can maximize ROI:
- Migration results
- Review the Completion reports, identify anything that stands out as unusual
- Risk areas, problematic accounts
- Identify mailboxes that have high volume of data storage and are approaching the data storage cap
- Identify accounts with mail routing issues or naming conventions that may require adjustment or renaming
- New platform recommendations
- Review object types and Transend’s recommendations for provisioning new objects when necessary
- Review the Online Help Center to identify available self-help materials
- Review the Transend Learning Portal and the ongoing value it provides users and admins (subscription required)
- Maintain data security when an employee leaves your organization (or is terminated)

Your Project Review Meeting must be scheduled before the end of your Managed Help Desk term.
