Migrating data not supported by IMAP

While Transend can migrate email data (messages, folders, attachments) directly from most servers via the IMAP protocol, calendars, contacts & tasks are only supported by an export process that is performed by the customer in advance of Transend migrating the exported files to the target mailbox.

If you need calendars, contacts or tasks migrated from your source IMAP server to your target mailbox, the following process must be performed:

  • Customer’s users or administrators export calendars, contacts, tasks to a file type Transend can migrate into the target platform (i.e. PST, MBOX, EML, LDIF, VCS/ICS, Vcard/VCF, etc.)
  • Customer to upload all exported files into Transend’s secure Dropbox account
  • Customer to define in User List each source file’s target mailbox destination
  • Transend to download exported files from Dropbox to its migration machine and migrate them into the appropriate target mailbox as a Single-pass migration after the Cutover is performed

Important!

Email data can be migrated directly from the IMAP server and does not require this export process. Email can be migrated as a Staged or Single-pass migration.
