LDIF Considerations
LDIF files are ASCII text files containing directory entries. The format is designed for transferring directories from one system to another. Many IMAP or POP3 based email systems import or export address books in the LDIF format, so choose this format if you need to transfer data between systems.
In Transend Migration Console, LDIF files are the primary way of exchanging address information with Thunderbird or Netscape.
Requirements
- No additional software is required.
- Transend Migration Console expects to find a file named address.ldif when migrating from an LDIF file, but it will allow for different filenames. By default, Transend Migration Console will create a file named address.ldif when migrating to an LDIF file.
