Strip Large Attachments

If large attachments in GroupWise messages are causing migration errors (due toGroupWise API limitations, corruption, or otherwise), you may strip attachmentsduring migration so they do not migrate, allowing the message to migratesuccessfully.

To implement this feature, use the custom option /GWMAXATTACHSIZE N where Nis the attachment size in KB (1024 bytes). This will result in any attachment ina GroupWise message that is equal to or larger than the defined attachment sizevalue (n) will be stripped during migration. The migrated message in the targetplatform will display a stub indicating the attachment was stripped duringmigration.

Notes:

  • This feature only applies to a GroupWise source platform while runningTransend Migration Console v3.0 and above
  • Attachments that are stripped with the /GWMAXATTACHSIZE option will not bemigrated or detached to a drive
  • If detaching attachments to a drive is important, use the /MAXATTACHSIZEoption instead
