Migrate to Google Groups (Collaborative Inboxes)

To migrate email data intoGoogle Groups (Collaborative Inboxes){target=”_blank”}, follow these steps to customize your configuration:

  1. Set up aGoogle Service Account{target=”_blank”} for your organization.
  2. Add this scope to the API Client in Security / API Controls /Domain-wide Delegation:https://www.googleapis.com/auth/apps.groups.migration.
  3. Add this API to theGoogle Service Account{target=”_blank”}: Groups Migration API.
  4. The target address in the Transend Migration Console Users list should be theGoogle admin’s account that was used to create theGoogle Service Account{target=”_blank”}.
  5. Add following custom option to your Transend Migration Console configuration:/D297 MCTADRG.
  6. Define the target Google Group’s e-mail address in the /D256 parameter.
  7. Example: To migrate multiple M365 shared mailboxes into multiple GoogleGroups:
    • Add a custom column in the users list called GROUP.
    • Define the e-mail address of the Google Group.
    • In /D256 define $GROUP.
  8. If you’re using aTranslation Table{target=”_blank”} in Transend Migration Console, you’ll need to customize itto map the source address to the actual target address.

Notes:

  • Google’s Groups Migration API does not support labels, so Transend MigrationConsole cannot create labels during migration when migrating data into aGoogle Group.
  • All mail is migrated into the conversations view.
