Migrate to Google Groups (Collaborative Inboxes)
To migrate email data into Google Groups (Collaborative Inboxes), follow these steps to customize your configuration:
- Set up a Google Service Account for your organization.
- Add this scope to the API Client in Security / API Controls / Domain-wide Delegation: https://www.googleapis.com/auth/apps.groups.migration.
- Add this API to the Google Service Account: Groups Migration API.
- The target address in the Transend Migration Console Users list should be the Google admin’s account that was used to create the Google Service Account.
- Add following custom option to your Transend Migration Console configuration: /D297 MCTADRG.
- Define the target Google Group’s e-mail address in the /D256 parameter.
- Example: To migrate multiple M365 shared mailboxes into multiple Google Groups:
- Add a custom column in the users list called GROUP.
- Define the e-mail address of the Google Group.
- In /D256 define $GROUP.
- If you’re using a Translation Table in Transend Migration Console, you’ll need to customize it to map the source address to the actual target address.
Notes:
- Google’s Groups Migration API does not support labels, so Transend Migration Console cannot create labels during migration when migrating data into a Google Group.
- All mail is migrated into the conversations view.
