Migrate to Google Groups (Collaborative Inboxes)
To migrate email data intoGoogle Groups (Collaborative Inboxes){target=”_blank”}, follow these steps to customize your configuration:
- Set up aGoogle Service Account{target=”_blank”} for your organization.
- Add this scope to the API Client in Security / API Controls /Domain-wide Delegation:
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/apps.groups.migration. - Add this API to theGoogle Service Account{target=”_blank”}: Groups Migration API.
- The target address in the Transend Migration Console Users list should be theGoogle admin’s account that was used to create theGoogle Service Account{target=”_blank”}.
- Add following custom option to your Transend Migration Console configuration:
/D297 MCTADRG. - Define the target Google Group’s e-mail address in the
/D256parameter. - Example: To migrate multiple M365 shared mailboxes into multiple GoogleGroups:
- Add a custom column in the users list called GROUP.
- Define the e-mail address of the Google Group.
- In
/D256define $GROUP.
- If you’re using aTranslation Table{target=”_blank”} in Transend Migration Console, you’ll need to customize itto map the source address to the actual target address.
Notes:
- Google’s Groups Migration API does not support labels, so Transend MigrationConsole cannot create labels during migration when migrating data into aGoogle Group.
- All mail is migrated into the conversations view.
